COVID-19 Update from North West London NHS

Coronavirus (COVID-19) update from North West London NHS

12 February 2021

In just two months more than 357,000* vaccinations have been given to residents across NW London from services provided by our Primary Care Networks, hospitals, large vaccination centres and pharmacies. This has been thanks to the incredible effort of our NHS staff, local authority colleagues, local partners and volunteers.

The last invites to those aged 70 and over or on the Shielded Patients List who are yet to be vaccinated have now either been delivered, meaning vaccines have been offered to everyone eligible whose contact details the NHS has.

While that means we have met the commitment to offer vaccines to everyone in these groups by the middle of February, we are determined that nobody should be left behind.

So if you are aged 70 and over and haven’t had your first dose yet, please come forward now and make an appointment at nhs.uk/covidvaccination, or by phoning 119 if you can’t use the internet. Further details are included below.

We are also working with our local communities to support those who still have questions about the vaccine, to support all residents to make informed choices. You can find some answers here.

While the vaccination programme has got off to a great start we must be reminded that rates of coronavirus infections continue to remain high across our boroughs, so please ensure you stay at home and follow national lockdown guidance.

For those who have received a vaccine you still need to follow all the guidance including social distancing, wearing face coverings and hand washing.

If you have symptoms of Covid-19 make sure you isolate and get a test if necessary.

The last few months have been particularly hard for many and it is important to look after your mental health needs during the pandemic.

Help is available from the NHS. You can access services near you, you can refer yourself or speak to your GP or another healthcare professional for a referral. More information can be found in this newsletter.

GP practice services are still available. Please contact the practice who can advise you on how to get the help you need. For non-urgent issues, advice is available on the NHS website www.nhs.uk, NHS app, or you can speak to your local pharmacist. You can also use e-consult which is available through your GP practice website.
