Make sure your child is up to date with their MMR vaccines
The vaccine is safe and protects against the three serious illnesses. According to the NHS, "these highly infectious conditions can easily spread between unvaccinated people."
To stop the spread of these diseases and to prevent other problems caused by the conditions, including meningitis, hearing loss and problems during pregnancy, getting vaccinated is key.
You can ask your GP surgery or other healthcare professionals for more information about the vaccinations.
More information is available about when children should have the MMR vaccine, what to do if you have missed a vaccine, when older children and adults should have the MMR vaccine, vaccine safety and more, on the NHS website here.
