Proactive population health and reducing inequalities for everyone is something the NHS wants to improve upon. They want to make sure they have a clear understanding of the health status of the population, work to improve access to education and employment opportunities and work with public health partners to keep communities healthy. Priorities include:
- To improve support for mental health, learning disabilities and autism, they intend to put more mental health support in schools and create more community based mental health services.
- The NHS of North West London wants to decrease waiting times for hospital services and referrals, especially for cancer care and other threatening illnesses.
- They strive to understand the differing needs of patients in maternity care and children across the boroughs, while ensuring that families have a voice.
- The NHS plans to stay up to date with both technological and societal advancements, and continues to make improvements regarding staff support and care.
Generally, they want to increase care, support and outreach in the communities by creating partnerships with members of the local community, local councils, and the NHS to support residents’ health and care needs and improve overall communication. They want to improve education services, efficiency, equity and involvement.
