Healthwatch Hammersmith & Fulham is the independent consumer champion for health and social care in the borough. We help children, young people and adults to have a say about health and social care services in Hammersmith & Fulham. This includes every part of the community, with a focus on people who sometimes struggle to be heard.
Healthwatch Hammersmith & Fulham is here to listen to and represent the views and experiences of anyone who is entitled to access health or social care services in Hammersmith & Fulham, and their carers and relatives.
We also work to raise awareness amongst commissioners, providers and other agencies about the importance of engaging with communities and listening to local voices.
We work to highlight the expertise and value that individuals can bring to discussion and decision making on local and national issues.
We promote community involvement in the commissioning, provision and scrutiny of health and social services.
We work to give people and communities a stronger voice to influence and challenge how health and social care services are provided locally.
Healthwatch Hammersmith & Fulham has the authority to monitor and review how local services are planned and run; and the power to ‘enter and view’ premises delivering health and social care services.
We also provide an information and signposting service helping local people to make choices about health and social care services and finding the help they need.
Our starting point will always be real people – their experience, their needs and their wants. We go out into the community to gather views and base our work on solid evidence and intelligent analysis.
Alongside members of the public, we work with local organisations and charities to identify a local picture of the trends and issues that matter most to local people.
We are ambitious – our role is to say where change is most needed. We will also be realistic – a critical friend with a pragmatic view.
Locally, Healthwatch Hammersmith & Fulham works to help people get the best out of their health and social care services. With your help we will improve health and social care services today and help to shape them for tomorrow. Healthwatch Hammersmith & Fulham is all about local voices being able to influence how local services are designed and delivered. We invite members of the public, patients, carers and service users alike to work in partnership with us to achieve the best quality health and social care services for the people of Hammersmith & Fulham.
